\m/, nm/ and other beer-ordering methods
Apparently ordering beer in Belgium is like being a baseball coach; there's a sundry of hand signals you use to tell the barkeep what kind of beer you want.
- Annelies: when you're in a cafe and you want a beer, just show you're pinky
- Me: My pinky finger?
- Annelies: yep
- Me: Not the index?
- Me: (that's what we use over here)
- Annelies: no not the index ;)
- Annelies: a pint of beer= een pintje, in dialect that's "e pinke" and the pinky finger is called 'pink' in dutch
- Me: ahhhhhhhhhhh
- Me: clever :)
- Annelies: for a palm you just wave your hand
- Annelies: for a 'kriek' you put 2 fingers on your ear.. like you hang cherries on them
- Me: what?
- Me: are you just fucking with me now? :)
- Annelies: no
- Annelies: and for a 'duvel' (devil) you make a devil rock hand :)
- Annelies: and there's a lot more but i don't go out that much
Does anyone else know any others?
