\m/, nm/ and other beer-ordering methods

Apparently ordering beer in Belgium is like being a baseball coach; there's a sundry of hand signals you use to tell the barkeep what kind of beer you want.

  • Annelies: when you're in a cafe and you want a beer, just show you're pinky
  • Me: My pinky finger?
  • Annelies: yep
  • Me: Not the index?
  • Me: (that's what we use over here)
  • Annelies: no not the index ;)
  • Annelies: a pint of beer= een pintje, in dialect that's "e pinke" and the pinky finger is called 'pink' in dutch
  • Me: ahhhhhhhhhhh
  • Me: clever :)
  • Annelies: for a palm you just wave your hand
  • Annelies: for a 'kriek' you put 2 fingers on your ear.. like you hang cherries on them
  • Me: what?
  • Me: are you just fucking with me now? :)
  • Annelies: no
  • Annelies: and for a 'duvel' (devil) you make a devil rock hand :)
  • Annelies: and there's a lot more but i don't go out that much

Does anyone else know any others?
