Getting there
It’s been three weeks, now, since I’ve moved. I’m mostly unpacked, which feels pretty good. I don’t have any furniture yet other than my desk — which I just set up today — and computer chair, one bookcase, two overflowing media towers and an air mattress I’m borrowing from a co-worker. But even still, I’m absolutely loving every last minute of it.
You see, this is actually my first apartment where I’ve lived sans roommates. Let me tell you; this is clearly the way I should have been living all these years. I cannot even begin to count the ways in which it’s better.
Now that I’m mostly unpacked, I thought I’d start getting back to my life. I’m working on a scholarship for film school, which would finally enable me to go. And I’m planning my first short film, which I’ll be shooting this summer and then submitting to every film festival I can to see what happens. And if that weren’t enough, I’m also going to Europe next month, which will be my first time off the North American continent. (I’ll be posting regularly during my trip.)
Aside from the whole ‘moving to Canada’ thing being thwarted, it seems as though all my plans are coming to fruition; and that makes me quite happy. And Canada is only a setback; I still intend on immigrating there, but it’s going to take a few years as a skilled worker.
Anyway, time to wrap this up. See you next week!
