Sane text sanitisation
TextSoap 4.5 can make your life a whole lot easier
Well, the realign/redesign is going pretty well, but I just wanted to write a quick note about this utility I just discovered called TextSoap. As the site will tell you, “TextSoap is a utility that makes it easy to clean out the annoying forwarding marks, invisible characters, and formatting that you often find in email and long documents.” The brilliance of this is that it’s one of those applications that you never knew you needed. It comes with plug-ins for a slew of text editors and email clients, Automator support, and (my personal favourite) it’s Service-aware!
It’s $25 shareware, runs on Mac OS X 10.3+ (yes, that means it works on Tiger, too), and is really quite handy if you work with text a lot like I do. So check it out!
