Working. Please wait…

A lot of big things are in the pipeline at the moment. I’m going apartment hunting this weekend, which is a pretty big deal for me because it’ll be my first apartment by myself. In addition to that, I’m going to be calling Citizenship and Immigration Canada today, and hopefully that will pan out. I’ve also been working on cleaning up my credit report, which doesn’t seem to be all that easy because nobody puts their phone numbers on anything. I only owe around $1500 (all medical bills except for one for about $180), but I want to get that cleaned off so that I can maybe try to get a car loan later this year. And last but not least, an opportunity for a full scholarship for film school has arisen, so I’m going to be feverishly working on that application over the next few days.

So if the posting gets a little bit thin over the next couple of weeks, that’s why. I’ll try to still get a few words in when I can, though.

Yikes, that does sound like a lot for one guy to have on his plate … especially a lot of big things. Hope it all pans out for you … especially the citizenship part. I’m sure that’s a toughie.

I swear, my credit report is a total mess of companies that are impossible to get a hold of, or companies who, despite the fact I have paid off my card with them and sent them WRITTEN notice that I’d like to cancel my card with them, refuse to make their way off the report. Ah well, hope your luck is better than mine.

Well, the citizenship part didn’t go so well. Basically the law at the time was pretty sexist, and so my grandmother basically wasn’t allowed to register their birth abroad because she was a woman.

The credit bit is going slowly but surely. It’s going to take a few months for everything to clear up, but at least I’m making some progress. I also got a credit card through my credit union, and I’m going to be using that for building up positive credit. (Because it’s not enough to just eliminate the bad credit marks.)
